Which version of the modified firmware (if any) should I use?

I have an Amitech Internet Radio 310 (and its manual is already posted on your website)
. The relevant info is:

AMITECH_R-1.0.3.64

build 01/13/09-1557
So far I have been unable to find the AMITECH_R firmware.

There is new hope for the Amitech_R model. The way it looks now it can be turned into a generic KW-1004 and then you can load the latest firmware with several fixes.

Thank you for the fast reply! It is just one word in capital letters: KINGSUN,  nothing else. I am looking forward to the modified software.

Thank you for the fast reply! It is just one word in capital letters: KINGSUN,  nothing else. I am looking forward to the modified software.

I see there are 2 Kingsun models. (Kingsun and Kingsun-4M)

Can you give me the exact name that is displayed in the information screen?

I have already started working on the needed changes. Once I know the model you need I will finalize the file and contact you directly for a test run.

Thank you for the great work. I bought a Penbex box (Dmtech IR5000) a couple of days ago. I love it (recording capability) but is frustrated with the messy Penbex World Radio database. They a selling the Dmtechs in many shops and internet stores in Sweden now and there could be a rising interest in the modified firmware. Do you have the time to make a modified version of the KINGSUN firmware?
Sure.. I will take a look at it.

Yep, I just uploaded Version 68 to my Centrios, and it's working just fine.  Thanks for the new update!  (I did notice that in the INFORMATION section that it still says version 67 though just FYI)  I haven't had a chance to play around with it, but how do you configure it to receive the favorites that are added on the website?

And oooh I notice I have moderator access!    I see like 66 awaiting approval.  What's the process of going through the list?  I don't want to mess anything up.

EDIT:  Oooh I see... you just go to the Private Stations listing on the radio right above Podcasts, and go to your username.  That's quite cool!  I see you can see all the other users' radio station favorites too.  Is there a limit?  I mean say if 1 million users signed up tomorrow, would their favorites all appear on our radios?

Did you try the .68 version yet?

UPDATE:  Okay, I was successfully able to reload the original software onto my Centrios unit using my homemade Type A-A (male male) USB cable.  I basically had a couple of old mini-USB cables lying around that I rarely use so I cut off the ends and soldered the matching coloured wires together.  The wires are black, red, green and white.  I didn't see the point in buying a $10 cable when I would probably be only using it once or twice in the forseeable future.

I'm not sure what went wrong with the modified firmware.  I had upgraded the unit to the Penbex firmware online, but I doubt that should have made any difference.  After upgrading to the modified firmware from this website, it just got stuck at the I-Radio intro page.

Oh oh I tried updating my Centrios unit with the modified firmware, and it's not responding any more.  It's stuck on the I-Radio welcome screen and doesn't respond to the remote or any buttons on the unit except for the power button.  After pressing power for a few seconds, it does shut down.  I can power it back up, but it remains inactive at the I-Radio screen.

I tried the method to restore the original firmware back on, but it doesn't do anything when pressing the up arrow and then the power button... yikes... I think it's glitched!  Any suggestions?

EDIT: Okay, I ended up unplugging the unit, pressing the up arrow, and plugging the unit back in which does bring up the USB upgrade display.  Now I just need to go buy a USB cable to hook it up to my laptop!  Very strange - I don't know why the modified firmware doesn't work on my unit.

Here are the firmware files for:
Centrios 1315117
IPMicro KW-1004

See below for upgrade instructions.

Available now: KW-1004 firmware: kw-1004-1.0.3.67.zip

Other versions will follow as soon as possible. Later this week the website will also be renewed. If you have a KW-1004 / N-1004 or similar (see information screen on your device) then download the ZIP archive file. Extract it to a USB stick or SD card and insert it in your radio. Go to the firmware upgrade in your setup screen and follow the steps that appear on the screen. After loading this firmware it will use the Listenlive.nl database
