Hi,
Very short on spare time at the moment. But every spare minute goes to finishing the new firmware. It is nearly finished.
I will take a look at your idea with the colored icons. The colors might be confusing for some. Perhaps there is another way.. Could also print "all" "1-5" "1-6" "6-7" to indicate the days that the alarm goes off.
Or perhaps not print the days, but just print when exactly the first upcoming alarm will go off. Because you can see all that info in the settings screen anyway. I guess what you really want to know is when exactly the first alarm is triggered. So perhaps just print that..
Like this:
Upper left corner shows which alarm is first and at what time.. Here: Alarm1 is first to get triggered at 7.15 am. upper right corner shows the sleep timer count down value.. Here: 1 hour 29 minutes to go..
Here is the new media player screen:

Hello William,
i've realized i've not pointed this idea for the alarm icons in the top bar on clock screen (and anywhere there're displayed too). The icons keep the same design as currently but the color change depending on the kind of days selected for this alarm and if it's active or not (for example):
- Activated All Days (White)- Activated Monday-Saturday (Yellow)- Activated Monday-Friday (Green)- Activated Saturday-Sunday (Blue)- Activated One shot (Red)- De-activated (Grayed as in current version) Otherwise, any news about the next release ? Regards Eric (leviking) Quote:Hi,
Thanks for this, great to have alternative ways of thinking. I attached the file to the message so that it can be downloaded right away. I like some of the ideas in your program. Like how to set the time and the idea of having quick access to alarm settings and presets while in clock mode. Other things like general navigation I am fighting with. Not really clear to me how to move between some screens.
If welcome any kind of input to improve the program. Also, if anyone thinks he can do better graphics please send it. Coding is no problem but I am for sure no graphics artist
Btw, nice radar image. I just moved to meteovista for radar images.

Hello,
I've allready spoken about that and if it has required some time to get it up, it finally comes. Thanks for the file attaching to my post. If i could help to improve ergonomy or just give some ideas, i'm happy. What do you want to do in navigation and don't be able to do ? For exemple, to go to "ClockRadioAlarm" state, you should use... an alarm. :-D So you have to program one alarm, stay in "clock" state and alarm will then fire and that's it. But there are also states not yet used as tsRadio and tsRadioTempo (was an idea finally not (yet ?) implemented) or tsConfig not implemented which will be the entry point for settings screens, and of course it's not possible to reach them at the moment.
So don't hesitate to ask for the moves not enough clear.
If all of that can help you to improve your work, it will not being so stupid. I'm exactly the same in programing: good (enough) code but very, very, very poor and bad colors. ))
The sat view is a snapshot from "http://france.meteofrance.com" where there is an european sat view animation. Best regards Eric (leviking) Quote:

Hello all,Preamble:do not see in any way this message as an attack against the current, very nice, work William is done.it's just a suggestion, a request if possible, a way to keep an eye on alternate ways. Short presentation:I've seen that some others, like me, would be interresting in a device closest to a "clock radio alarm" than thecurrent one.So i've though about a limited device just being a clock radio alarm with snooze function, one touch sleeptimer, two alarms with parameters being accessed in very few buttons pressed. And that's (quit) all folks ! :-DButtons used within each display:Clock -> RIGHT: Last played radio preset station ([Clock (radio playing)]) LEFT : Last played radio preset station ([Clock (radio playing)]) ENTER: Sleeptimed radio ([Clock (radio playing)]) or Stop "snooze" (and then alarm mode) when on "snooze" UP : [Alarm1] (not on "snooze") DOWN : [Display] (not on "snooze") Alarm1 -> ENTER: ON/OFFor RIGHT: [Day(s) selected]Alarm2 UP : [Alarm2] from [Alarm1] [Display] from [Alarm2] DOWN : [Alarm1] from [Alarm2] [Clock] from [Alarm1] Day(s) selected -> UP/DOWN: browse through - All Days (White) - Monday-Saturday (Yellow) - Monday-Friday (Green) - Saturday-Sunday (Blue) - One shot (Red) ENTER : valid selected RIGHT : [Alarm Time] LEFT : back to [AlarmX] Alarm Time -> UP/DOWN: increase / decrease current value (Hour or Minute) RIGHT : change from Hour to Minute back and forth ENTER : valid current value LEFT : back to [Day(s) selected] Display -> RIGHT: [Brightness] UP : [Clock] DOWN : [Alarm2]Brightness -> UP/DOWN: increase / decrease current value (change immediatly active) LEFT : back to [Display] Clock (Radio playing) -> UP/DOWN: increase / decrease volume RETURN : stop (sleeptimed / alarm) radio (back to [Clock]) RIGHT : Next radio preset (not in sleeptimed or alarm mode) LEFT : Previous radio preset (not in sleeptimed or alarm mode) ENTER : [Weather] (not in sleeptimed or alarm mode) or "snooze" (in alarm mode) and go to [Clock] Weather -> RETURN : [Clock (radio playing)] LEFT : [Weather Sat View] RIGHT : [Weather next days] UP/DOWN : increase / decrease volumeWeather Sat View -> RETURN : [Clock (radio playing)] RIGHT : [Weather next days] ENTER : [Weather] UP/DOWN : increase / decrease volume Weather next days -> RETURN : [Clock (radio playing)] LEFT : [Weather Sat View] ENTER : [Weather] UP/DOWN : increase / decrease volume Menu Tree View: [Display] ---------- [Brightness] |[Alarm2] ----------- [Day(s) selected] --------- [Hour] -------- [Minute] |[Alarm1] ----------- [Day(s) selected] --------- [Hour] -------- [Minute] |[Clock] ------------ [Clock radio] |[Alarm1] ----------- [Day(s) selected] --------- [Hour] -------- [Minute] |[Alarm2] ----------- [Day(s) selected] --------- [Hour] -------- [Minute] |[Display] ---------- [Brightness]Volume Up |[clock radio (all)] or [Weather (all)] |Volume Down [Weather Sat View] ------ [Weather] ------ [Weather next days][Weather Sat View] -()- [Weather][Weather next days] -()- [Weather][AlarmX] -()- ON/OFF[Day(s) selected] -()- Selection validation[Hour] -()- Hour & Minute validation[Minute] -()- Hour & Minute validation[Clock (snooze)] -()- Stop current alarm[Clock radio (sleeptimer)] -()- Set sleep countdown back to initial value[Clock radio (alarm)] -()- Start snooze delay and go back to clock screen[Clock radio (manual)] -()- [Weather][Weather (all)] <<<< [Clock radio][Clock radio (all)] <<<< [Clock]| Up/Down buttons- Left/Right buttons-()- Enter button<<<< Return button Specifications:Favorite radios can have from 0 to 4 attributs:- Preset # (# from 1 to 10)- AL-1 (alarm1)- AL-2 (alarm2)- SL (sleeptimed)These attribution could be managed from the ll website and/or in the settings screens of the device. If when an alarm fire up, the AL-x radio can't be played, then the device play a default sound in place (like in original firmware). When it's time to fire an alarm, it will be fired only if the device is strictly in [Clock] mode, in all other cases, the alarm is not played and only prepared for his next time (if any). The sleeptimer delay is a setting and can be any number of minutes from 1 to 90. So the choice is done via a +/- selector and not whithin some restricted possible values.I see two possible ways to get this "clock radio alarm" mode being implemented.1/ this is just a new setting in the current ll firmware. Something like:Display mode: * Default * "Clock radio alarm"Then if this setting is choosed, the device then go directly to the clock screen after boot but it's allready possible to reach default menu (and capabilities) via a specified button (to be defined).2/ this is done via a new "light" ll firmware with just what is needed to run it.In this case, settings will be reduced to thoose strictly necessary to run restricted functions.I'm not really a linux man, but i hope that reducing functions will also reduce modules in kernel and de facto lesspotential bugs / problems. This one is my prefered. 2 bis/ a "light" new firmware but with little more functionnalities like playing music files (not video) and displaying pictures from SD card (not from network). So some other funtions but avoiding thoose "heavy" and potentially "dangerous" for stability.I've also done a prototype whithin a win32 program (just uploaded few minutes ago as VikingXoro-1.00.Zip).This is not a simulator, it's just a way to see "theorical" displays and states, with allowed buttons at each time. You can click on buttons on the remote picture or on the classical windows buttons (thoose show when they're enabledor disabled). My wish was to try to be as near as possible from the way my vanilla clock radio (FM) alarm is working with fewbuttons and less as possible buttons to press for each function. At the moment, i've only used buttons present on the device. So all remaining buttons on the remote stay usuable for shortcuts or other functions (in case of 1 or 2 bis option). All this are suggestions and wishes of my own. They, of course, are'nt "the way to go" and all can (should) becommented, asked to change, and so long... and finally this is William which will have the last sentence. Regards to all(Last Edited by penbex on April 25, 2012, 4:36 pm)
