Very short on spare time at the moment.But every spare minute goes to finishing the new firmware. It is nearly finished.

I will take a look at your idea with the colored icons. The colors might be confusing for some. Perhaps there is another way..
Could also print "all" "1-5" "1-6" "6-7" to indicate the days that the alarm goes off.

Or perhaps not print the days, but just print when exactly the first upcoming alarm will go off.
Because you can see all that info in the settings screen anyway.
I guess what you really want to know is when exactly the first alarm is triggered. So perhaps just print that..

Like this:

Upper left corner shows which alarm is first and at what time.. Here: Alarm1 is first to get triggered at 7.15 am. 
upper right corner shows the sleep timer count down value.. Here: 1 hour 29 minutes to go..

i've realized i've not pointed this idea for the alarm icons in the top bar on clock screen (and anywhere there're displayed too).
The icons keep the same design as currently but the color change depending on the kind of days selected for this alarm and if it's active or not (for example):

- Activated All Days (White)
- Activated Monday-Saturday (Yellow)
- Activated Monday-Friday (Green)
- Activated Saturday-Sunday (Blue)
- Activated One shot (Red)
- De-activated (Grayed as in current version)


Otherwise, any news about the next release ?

If i could help to improve ergonomy or just give some ideas, i'm happy.

What do you want to do in navigation and don't be able to do ?

For exemple, to go to "ClockRadioAlarm" state, you should use... an alarm. :-D So you have to program one alarm, stay in "clock" state and alarm will then fire and that's it.

But there are also states not yet used as tsRadio and tsRadioTempo  (was an idea finally not (yet ?) implemented) or tsConfig not implemented which will be the entry point for settings screens, and of course it's not possible to reach them at the moment.

So don't hesitate to ask for the moves not enough clear.

If all of that can help you to improve your work, it will not being so stupid.

I'm exactly the same in programing: good (enough) code but very, very, very poor and bad colors. ))

The sat view is a snapshot from "http://france.meteofrance.com" where there is an european sat view animation.

it's just a suggestion, a request if possible, a way to keep an eye on alternate ways.


Short presentation:

I've seen that some others, like me, would be interresting in a device closest to a "clock radio alarm" than the
current one.

So i've though about a limited device just being a clock radio alarm with snooze function, one touch sleeptimer,
two alarms with parameters being accessed in very few buttons pressed. And that's (quit) all folks ! :-D

Specifications:

Favorite radios can have from 0 to 4 attributs:
- Preset # (# from 1 to 10)
- AL-1 (alarm1)
- AL-2 (alarm2)
- SL (sleeptimed)
These attribution could be managed from the ll website and/or in the settings screens of the device.

If when an alarm fire up, the AL-x radio can't be played, then the device play a default sound in place (like in
original firmware).

When it's time to fire an alarm, it will be fired only if the device is strictly in [Clock] mode, in all other
cases, the alarm is not played and only prepared for his next time (if any).

The sleeptimer delay is a setting and can be any number of minutes from 1 to 90. So the choice is done via a +/-
selector and not whithin some restricted possible values.


I see two possible ways to get this "clock radio alarm" mode being implemented.

1/ this is just a new setting in the current ll firmware. Something like:
Display mode:
    * Default
    * "Clock radio alarm"
Then if this setting is choosed, the device then go directly to the clock screen after boot but it's allready
possible to reach default menu (and capabilities) via a specified button (to be defined).


2/ this is done via a new "light" ll firmware with just what is needed to run it.
In this case, settings will be reduced to thoose strictly necessary to run restricted functions.
I'm not really a linux man, but i hope that reducing functions will also reduce modules in kernel and de facto less
potential bugs / problems.
This one is my prefered.

2 bis/ a "light" new firmware but with little more functionnalities like playing music files (not video) and
displaying pictures from SD card (not from network).
So some other funtions but avoiding thoose "heavy" and potentially "dangerous" for stability.


I've also done a prototype whithin a win32 program (just uploaded few minutes ago as VikingXoro-1.00.Zip).


This is not a simulator, it's just a way to see "theorical" displays and states, with allowed buttons at each time.
You can click on buttons on the remote picture or on the classical windows buttons (thoose show when they're enabled
or disabled).

My wish was to try to be as near as possible from the way my vanilla clock radio (FM) alarm is working with few
buttons and less as possible buttons to press for each function.

At the moment, i've only used buttons present on the device.
So all remaining buttons on the remote stay usuable for shortcuts or other functions (in case of 1 or 2 bis option).

All this are suggestions and wishes of my own. They, of course, are'nt "the way to go" and all can (should) be
commented, asked to change, and so long... and finally this is William which will have the last sentence.
