You should now be able to use the radio with our database in combination with the original firmware!

This "trick" did not work on most of the Penbex models. It has been removed, as all models that worked with it have received proper firmwares now.

Unfortunately I don't have any firmware file. The radio was set to "auto upgrade" from an online source, so I never downloaded anything.
It also seems to me that there is no option to backup the existing firmware to USB.

But how about your post from May 21 where you recommended to set the DNS to 062.048.120.202. That didn't work for me. Has the IP changed in the meantime?

I do not have any 9003-X firmware files to work on. This means a fix is not so easy to do.
If you have any (older) firmware files for the 9003-X then please send me one so I can see what the hardware layout is and fix the firmware.

Is there already a solution for this device? I tried to set the DNS to 062.048.120.202 but it didn't help. When I select "i.Radio -> World Station" I get the message "Getting Genres..." for ages.
But the 062.048.120.202 seems to be down anywas. At least I cannot ping it.
And there is no firmware upgrade yet, right? Or did I miss anything?

I have tried this on y Cobra CIR 2000A and it doesn't seem to work. Is there another solution?

Go to settings, network settings, set a static IP and change the DNS 1 & 2 to 062.048.120.202
After this change you can use your device again making use of our server.
You can then also select favorites and see them on the device!

I found a IR9003-D-2.0.0.4.upg file on the internet. Tried to update, but the OS version stayed the same.

 

Check your about/info screen. I need to know the exact string including the firmware version.

I can do a firmware for IR9003-WC-4M
If you have the X version, try to get an old firmware file and I will fix it.
Perhap;s Chinavision has an old firmware available.

 

I also bought this radio from Chinavasion.

I was wondering if there are plans to make modified firmware for this model.

Considering the price I am happy with the product. The Audio is ok and the wireless works ok with any RT2571 chip-set USB wireless pen.

I hope a new firmware will be available soon so that i can receive the radio list from the listenlive database.

First of all, hello to everybody.

I have recently purchase a Chinese radio and I was looking to install a new Firmware on it. On the display under the information section the device says that it is a PenBex model IR9003-x running uClinux, the firmware name is "IR9003-X-2.0.0.1 released in 2011.  A quick Google search on lead me to this web site.

Does anyone of you know if I can install a different Firmware and if so do you know which one.

I have attached some picture. If anyone as more info please let me know.
