I'll think about this in more detail and get back to you. Things are quite hectic now.

There currently is no way to remap buttons.
Note that initially the firmware is setup to be in compatibility mode (we have to make sure basic operation works with 5 or 6 remote control models)

Go to settings > remote control settings -> remote control model
Press the mute button when asked. This detects the remote control model you have and puts functions under almost all buttons.

So far there was no real need to make the button layout user definable.
It is up to you to tell what you would like to see differently with the buttons.
There are 3 results possible:
1 - a user button selection would not be interesting enough compared the amount of work to change the code.
2 - a user button selection is interesting and it will be added to the list of things to do.
3 - the request is interesting but the button change you would like to see is small and makes more sense to be added globally for all users. Then it will be done for all.
etc.

Any other requests are welcome as well.

Is there any way to remap hardware buttons? Sometime there are functions which are more useful for me than the printed ones.

I'd also like to have a few station presets in hardware buttons, for example (most of the colored buttons aren't used not anyhow)..
