Topic: Firmware update not working

Hi Penbex, I actually bought a non working device after I had read your forum, My box says xenta, its a kmp510, it only loads up to a screen with different menu circles, and i cannot select anything.
How does the loader 2.0 install? directly from sd card? or do the menus have to work in order to install?
Thanks for your good work
Al

Hello,

You have bought a non-working device.
It can only be fixed from the inside with special tools and special software.
There is no easy "load from SD card fix".
You can contact me through mail to see how and what.

Try with and without the SD card inserted..

Once the firmware has completed it will say it has and instruct you to power down the device.
Pull the power cord and wait for a few seconds. remove the SD card and power on the device.
That should give you the normal listenlive screen with the menu icons.

This is the part where it goes differently, it tells me the system will reboot in 10 seconds, but it hangs
If I pull the power cord, it reboots back to the Loader v2 menu

The text mode is the loader. The loader is a step between the original firmware and the listenlive firmware.

From the original firmware you update to the loader.
After a reboot you get a text screen with a bunch of options.
the first option is used to update to the listenlive firmware.
This step requires that you put the llfirmare.upd and llfirmware.upd.md5 files on a SD card.
Choose option one and follow the screen.

If you get an error about not having the right files on the SD card while they clearly are on the SD, then there is an issue with reading the SD card.
Best is to use a card with a maximum size of 2 Gigabyte. Preferrably with fat32 formatting, although fat might work better in some cases.
Anyway, you best best is to grab a card from a different brand in this case.

I installed the loader V2 and whenever I boot end up in text mode. When I install the firmware 1.47 it confirms installation but keeps on rebooting in text mode
