I tried many times but it could never see it but i got to do it
here is the way
1- Unplug the power from the radio
2- Remove the 4 main screws from the back and pull it out slowly then the front will come out with you as well
in the front side you will find the main board and you will find the WI FI card attached to it ( it look like a USB flash memory without covers and it's connected to a USB port and attached to the board with double face tap )
3-Remove the USB card slowly and carefully
4 - Connect the USB cable from it to your computer then then computer will see it as a removable media '
finally follow the rest of the steps above and it will work

My radio is DMTECH IR5000
Hope i could help ::::::: Mvh Moustafa

Hi,
there is probably a new firmware is 2.0.0.23 Odys so indicated by the radio if I want to upgrade, does not work - error.
I've searched and found the 2.0.0.19, played by usb, then the radio not booted, the display was "Odys"and it went no further.
Since I have fortunately found the top post. Have only done so with the button above, did not go, then tried other keys.
With the left it goes well, the PC has shown a drive with 4MB.
I can try again tomorrow to flash 2.0.0.19.
Greeting busta
today: have now tested the 2.0.0.19 does not run

Odys have 4MB Flash, and for recovery usb mode, the key to the left Sorry for my bad English. cu Busta P.S. Odys Firmware 2.0.0.19 not Work. ![]() |
Oke, two things here.
First of all the recovery mode needs the "left" key to be pushed to enter recovery mode. Good to hear that! I will modify the first post to include that.
Second is the 2.0.0.19 firmware which should work. Perhaps Penbex issued a new model that needs a 4mb firmware version. I know they have new models that use 4MB firmwares. I will try to find more info on that.
Thanks,
William

Upload instructions are as follows:
1. Power off the Machine. (remove power from the mains socket)
2. Press the [UP] key and hold. (Note: some models appear to use the [Left] key)
3. Power on the system again. (plug power back into the mains socket)
4. You should see [USB upgrade] on the screen.
5. Release the [UP] key once you see that screen.
6. Connect your computer and the Penbex using a 2 port Type A USB cable. (eg. same connector on both sides)
7. If you have Windos or your Linux automounts disk drives, then it will come up as an 8.3 Megabyte removable disk. (do not format this disk)
8. Copy the (new) firmware onto that disk.
9. Unmount or eject the drive and it should then switch to the [Upgrade] screen.
(When using Windows, use the exporer, right click on the drive and select eject!)
10. While the system is upgrading you should see the [Upgrade] screen with its [wait two minutes] message.
11. After it has completed its upgrade it should reboot into the new firmware.
Thanks to Linuxdoctor and Frank Tso of Penbex for this.
You should only need this procedure if your device is not functioning correctly. Otherwise you can use the regular firmware update process.
