The installation of AAC is not to the increase of quality of sound for the listener.
The progress is a lower data rate with still tolerable sound.
AAC helps the supplier to lower operating expenses.
Technology moves on - sometimes with questionable result.

Hi Anthony, also for you - and of course also for all the others! You missed iHeart news canals after a technical change/update on their URLs. If you can spend a few minutes of time, check please the following stations. Here are the links to our station records: Nobi

A few days ago I put in a request for an Iheartradio station. WASH HD2 Washington DC. AKA Cool Oldies. The station was added to the database and I was able to add it to my favourites but unfortunately it won't play on my Centrios (Pembex) radio. It says "Getting Playlist" then "Buffering" but only up to about 20 percent. The display then returns to the station list and I hear nothing. I tried the regenerate option but no joy. Is the fact that it is listed as an AAC station the issue? It works great on my phone and has become my favourite station. Any advice. Thanks.

Hello Nobi:
I emailed IHeart and told them of this issue and the big inconvenience and frustration it is causing as they operate thousands of radio stations in the US. When I went to the website radiodiscussions.com, some members in the US also told of how their internet radios could no longer get their IHeart stations on their devices, too, and were frustrated. Even my other Internet Radio from Grace Digital - which already received IHeart stations automatically - lost the stations and had to be reprogrammed to get the stations back. Heart apparently changed their URL without telling anyone - the old URL that I programmed was working perfectly. Hopefully IHeart will realize this mistake on their part.
Thank you Nobi for your help.

Hello Anthony, I fear that this technology will not work on our devices. http://stream.revma.ihrhls.com/zc7729 This is an MP4 audio (mp4a) carrier for an advanced audio coded (AAC) data stream. My machine (Xoro HTM350) is not in the state to treat it.

Hi Nobi:
I started having trouble receiving quite a few stations today and am trying to figure out what's wrong. One of the stations is WBZ Newsradio 1030 from Boston, MA. The station, one of many owned by IHeart, had a stream that used to work on the radios that I found on their site listed as a "secure shoutcast stream" on their page that was working great: http://c14icyelb.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com/7729_icy, on my Vistaquest VQ-ITR100 radio. (The 7729 at the end of the URL I just listed identifies the station, all IHeart station carry the same URL stream but each has a different number for each station).
However this morning WBZ (and all other IHeart stations) changed their URL slightly; WBZ switched to http://stream.revma.ihrhls.com/zc7729
which works on the Vistaquest website but unfortunately I cannot get to work on my radio, which is frustrating because it and the other IHeart stations in my area (like WRKO, WHJJ) are high rated news and talk stations. When accessing the stations I get a message "The stream is not available right now. Try again later".
The stream is in AAC or MP3 format. Any solutions?

Hi Anthony, the streams offered by WGAN 560 are difficult to run on devices using LL presented station data sets: * WGAN 560 uses HTTPS (S=secure) protocol, which requires encryption layer for reading * the playlist is presented in the format M3U8, which uses UTF-8-encoded characters
I have no idea, how to handle these things for our radios. Additionally the presented stream is AAC coded, which can not be read by some older radio devices.
Due to geographical restrictions by WGAN 560 (it is not talking to Germany) I am (and also others in Europe, I'm sure) not able to support this item.
Sorry!

Hello Nobi or William:
I have receiving radio station WGAN 560 Am from Portland, ME until this past Monday (February 17, 2020) and they were using an MP3 stream. It seems that the URL stream may have changed, but I cannot get the new stream to work on my Vistaquest Radio nor on the Listenlive Website, but it works on a computer from their website at wgan.com. When I contacted the radio station they said to refresh the radio, which I did, but it still did not work. When I went to their website, clicked the Listen Live icon, and clicked to display the web page source codes, the stream URL was https://live.wostreaming.net/manifest/saga-wganamaac-hlsc1.m3u8
Is there any way you can make this stream work on the radios? It's a great news talk station that I enjoy listening.
You help is always appreciated. Thank you.
Regards,
Anthony

Hello William,
One would like to have KXRY in Portland Oregon added. Does not seem to be as easy as it was years ago.
This may be the stream: https://xray.fm/js/cfm-stream.js?x=1437796891
Thanks in advance. It's a pretty mellow station.
Best regards, Tim (angelranger) Chicago
