Topic: Finnish BC stations

Hi,
that's right. Many of the Finnish radio stations use these M3U8 play lists at their Internet pages for the live listen usage. But many of them have also stream URLs old style available.

I could not find usable streams of Supla stations. Therefor I remove the Supla records from our database. Sorry.

Nobi

The Supla ones might not work on these devices - they appear to use hls

Here is an example - for Groove
https://supla.digitacdn.net/live/_definst_/supla/groove/playlist.m3u8

which contains

#EXTM3U
#EXT-X-VERSION:3
#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:BANDWIDTH=151881,CODECS="mp4a.40.2"
chunklist.m3u8

which is a reference to
https://supla.digitacdn.net/live/_definst_/supla/groove/chunklist.m3u8
which contains

#EXTM3U
#EXT-X-VERSION:3
#EXT-X-TARGETDURATION:7
#EXT-X-MEDIA-SEQUENCE:290462
#EXTINF:6.06,
media-ucx431o83_290462.ts
#EXTINF:5.991,
media-ucx431o83_290463.ts
#EXTINF:5.99,
media-ucx431o83_290464.ts

and the player then has to fetch chunklist.m3u8 as it gets to the end so that it can request the next set.

Today I have finished the cleaning out of the radio list Finland for the moment.

Not all of the remained station entries do work (marked by "rating: *", only one star).
These entries are basically valid, however, do not work on my radio.
At the moment I have no solution for it.

Also I didn't get any of the stations of the Supla group running.
I hope, one of the other moderators still has ideas for it.
Nobi

Thank you for the info. I have to buy a newer radio set.

You radio was manufactored by Taiwanese company Penbex. They went bankrupt many years ago.
The hardware is not able to play newer stream types, like for example AAC and there are some other problems within the firmware.
Thats why you see these issues with some streams.
In many cases we have both an AAC and a penbex compatible stream type in the database however, some radiostations only use AAC as that uses less bandwidth due to higher compression.

Hi,

now I am able to create my own station list which finally shows up in my König/Penbex whatever radio it is. Very strange that some of stations
seem to jam my device, it says "waiting" and then I have to unplug or reboot the radio.

I noticed that Finnish Broadcast Company's (YLE) web sites have an arrow > button which starts the music/speech/. I guess the Penbex set needs something extra to the URL to start audio stream? (I'm not very clever with those web related things).

I will have a look at the situation now.

HI

How often do you check for dead or missing links? If I report an inoperative link will it be checked by someone and when?
about 80 per cent of Finnish links do not work anymore.

If I could apply working links when it comes to domestic stations it would help us Finnish listeners a lot.
