I would love to have the LL device act as an UPnP renderer, too. Any chance to implement this functionality in future versions?
There are a lot of UPnP compatible devices and apps out there, so if rendering was supported on the LL device, some users might not need proprietary "remote control" software.

Hi, currently the firmware does not have any provisions to act as a upnp client in such a way that it can be controlled via upnp by other devices.
We only let the device browse media servers and play content from it.

We are working on a way to control the device from a pc/tablet/smartphone. There is already a test program available. This is not via upnp though. 
Right now I am adding more functionality so that more things are possible.
These include showing push messages from a central server and actions controlled by the server.
Later we also might have the reverse option available, meaning an app on the device that can tell a server to do some tasks. (eg. lights off, blinds down etc.)
